Showers withheld

“… thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain;…” Jer.3:2,3                            God has stated why we have not received the latter rain and it is our work to individually and corporately examine wherein we have been guilty of these serious charges! We must face up to the fact that evidently these sins reach back many generations- at least to the 1888 era when we were told that the latter rain began to fall, yet was rejected by our refusal to accept the messages sent us at that time. I urge our people to read the chapter : THE SHAKING in the book Early Writings. It will reveal that before God can bestow the latter rain there must be RADICAL REPENTANCE,REVIVAL and REFORMATION and that a mighty shaking will precede the latter rain as the result of most of our people being unwilling to heed the counsel of the true witness to Laodicea. I am thankful to see an emphasis on seeking the HOLY SPIRIT,yet I do not think most of us realize what great changes will have to take place first.  We are told that in order to share in the refreshing we must have the victory over all sin!(EW 71). If God can use this effort to bring these things to our attention ,this movement will truly be endorsed of heaven. If we ignore the prerequisites ,Satan will triumph.   May God help each of us!
