The Timing of the Outpouring

I discovered something interesting while reading the material by A. T. Jones on the O.G.R. website.  He pointed out that the Disciples didn’t know when the promise of the Holy Spirit would be fulfilled, only that Jesus said “Tarry in Jerusalem until …”.  Looking back, we know that it was fulfilled on Pentecost.  But they didn’t know yet.  Jesus didn’t say how long.

So likewise, we can’t set a time for the Latter Rain to fall, but we can - as did the Disciples - set a time to ask God for it.  They didn’t set out to pray for ten days, they were going to pray until the Spirit came!  We must not loose interest in seeking God when these ten days are over, but we must be intentional about asking for the Spirit and letting Him work on us until the Latter Rain falls.  God will keep His promise.  I believe that the time has come for these things to happen.

I am starting to understand the Third Angel’s Message.  It has occurred to me that if we are going to proclaim the Message with great power, we had better know what it means.  Basically, if I can’t explain it to someone else, then I don’t really know it.  It’s going to have to be so clear in my mind, so simple.  Just memorizing some spiel won’t do it.  If we’re going to preach this Message with conviction and convincing power, we’ll have to know it.

The world has heard the two counterfeits: “Justification by works” (Catholic) and “Justification on paper only” (Protestant), now it needs to hear the Gospel.

Thanks E Huffman! Amen!

So let’s share each other’s take of the Three Angels Messages!

Here’s one of mine that I find very down to earth and relevant to my own life:

1st Angel’s Message:
God is authorizing me to make important choices in the here and now that will have consequences in my future, which at that point in time I will be able to do little or nothing about, i.e. “the hour of His judgement is come.” Choices = decisions = judgments. Consequences = sentencing = punishment or reward; curses or blessings.

2nd Angel’s Message:
I am put on notice that States and Governments representing Babylon are in no way to be an authority between myself and my Creator.

3rd Angel’s Message:
To the extent that I make the wrong choices in spite of YHWH’s still small voice and advance notices, I will for ever suffer consequences that are not to my liking. Specifically I am to avoid such as characterizes me as a beast in contradistinction to a Man that “Remembers” and applies God’s principles. Even more specifically I am not to identify myself with IDs such as makes me in effect one with any State or Government or the subject of any man or manmade institution.

4th Angel’s Message:
God is calling me and leading me step by little step out of all that which keeps me within the fold of each and every manmade State and Government. He is opening the doors and leading me safely onwards… (Cf. Exodus 20:2 & Deuteronomy 5:3-6!)

The First Message is the true gospel. It calls us to respect and worship God, because He is God - and that means to obey His voice. It calls us to Sabbath keeping. This message restores the truth about the relationship between law and grace.

The second message exposes the many false doctrines of the churches that have been introduced over the years, the traditions of men that distort God’s truth. Righteousness by works, “cheap grace”, Eternal torment, inate immortality of the soul. sunday sacredness, etc.

The third Message warns that God will punish those who obey man rather than God. God requires righteousness, He expects perfect obedience to His Law. The power to obey the Law comes from Christ “our righteousness”, through faith.

It is Important to realize that, while the three Messages came one after the other, they were added to each other. So, in this late stage of Earth’s history they all three must go together to complete the picture.

Another important thing to notice is the difference between Babylon and the Beasts. The beasts are the governments or states, while Babylon is the apostate church or churches. Of course the two are very involved with each other.

The Three Angels Messages will separate those who serve God from those who will not serve God. That’s what it boils down to.

Thanks again E Huffman!

Considering differences and similarities is a very fruitful mind exercise indeed!

I’m thinking of “Babylon” vs. “the Beasts:”

I can perceive three choices for myself:

1. I can identify myself as being one with the Beast;
2. I can identify myself as being one with the Babylon lady in Rev. 17:5; or
3. I can identify myself as neither one of the above, i.e. as one who is respecting no one but the Creator of the universe as my superior and owner. [This to me means refraining from using any State or Government issued ID of any kind. This really gives reality to the words in Rev. 13:17! It’s tricky to find alternatives, but I believe it’s better to find the alternatives while I have yet time to learn, than to wait until such time when no more time is given.]

Thus, there are very definite real life differences in consequence of the above, are there not?

As you say:
“The Three Angels Messages will separate those who serve God from those who will not serve God. That’s what it boils down to.”
