What god am I Asking to Set the Timing of My Life?

How is my timing set?
Do I offer “strange fire before the LORD?” or is my fire truly of YHWH’s kindling? (Cf. Num. 3:4; 26:61; Lev. 10:1.)
It is important to have a good tune up in order for the engine of my automobile to be running smoothly and with optimal power, is it not? Isn’t the objective of a good tune up to make certain that the spark is igniting at exactly the right time as called for by the specific fuel I use for power? Is timing of the spark that we call ignition important?
How about in regards to the cycles of life that we call bio rhythms? Is it important for a woman to know exactly where she is in her monthly cycle? When a man and a woman desire a child, is it important for them to recognize and give heed to the bio rhythms God is making clear to them? Does it make a difference in the mood of your child whether (s)he went to bed in time the night before? How about my own sleep and wake cycles?

The Biblical Calendar & the true Day of Pentecost:
Today until sunset is the Third Day [of the week] and the Thirteenth Day of the Second Moon. [That is, using the Biblical Calendar established from the beginning of creation.]
Today is also the Twenty-fifth Day of Omer. [That is, counting the weekly Shabbat within the Feast of Unleavened Bread as Day One of Omer.]
The Fiftieth Day of Omer is better known as the Day of Pentecost or as the Feast of Weeks. [Because the base Shabbat is also the 0th Shabbat, the 7th Sabbath is also the 50th Day of Omer according to biblical (not Jewish) reckoning. That is, 1 + ( 7 x 7 ) = 50. Notice that the number One (1) comes first, not last! Makes sense, doesn’t it?]
Accordingly, sunset tonight is the exact mid-point in the Counting of the Days of Omer as per correct biblical reckoning.

Whose blessings do I value most? Can I tell by the choices I have made?
How important do any of the above biblically defined days appear to me if and when I do not recognize them for what they are? How important is anything to any of us before we are aware of its existence? Yet, does my ignorance change the fact that my car will not run well if the spark is igniting at the wrong time? Does my ignorance of my wife’s monthly cycle have an impact upon the beingness of our family? Are there blessings in being ignorant of important facts of life that God in His wisdom is doing His best to teach us? Or, is my own ignorance at the root and cause of every curse I suffer in life?
As Seventh-day Adventists we realize some tremendous blessings by being tuned to God’s 7th Day Sabbath, don’t we? Isn’t it true that every Sabbath is a time when you and I are once again being rejuvenated by a very timely spark which is not “of our own kindling?”

May I be missing the point - and miss out on some of the most important blessings of our Creator?
On the Fourth Day of the Creation Week the Creator established once and for all (i.e. for you and I) the markers of His Calendar. By means of records written by such as were observing God’s timing as defined in Leviticus Chapter 23 it is possible to place those records exactly in time and to correlate such records with various Calendars of men with which we may be more familiar.
“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years” Genesis 1:14.
Accordingly, by use of such records it has been shown that today until midnight is also “Tuesday, May 1, in the 2007th Year” after the beginning of the reign of Caesar Tiberius. [That is, as reckoned by the Vatican Calendar, which we all recognize as the Gregorian Calendar.]
What blessings may I be missing out on by being tuned exclusively to the Calendar of Pope Gregorian or while forgetting all about the abundant blessings inherent in the events tied into the time keeping revealed to me in the Holy Scriptures?
If I pride myself upon my recognition of the meaning of Daniel 7:25, while yet I am stopping short of identifying and correcting in my own life as many as I possibly can of those “change[d] times and laws,” am I then taking full advantage of the many showers of blessings God is desiring for each one of His own Sons and Daughters?
“And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.”

A last minute invitation to the Wedding Supper of the Lamb of God:
Perhaps I may extend an invitation from our Creator, to each of you who are truly my Brothers and Sisters in Messiah and who are daily being anointed with the oil of the Word of God, to join me in prayer for being ignited by the spark of God’s kindling in a very special way on the 50th Day of Omer, which day is also the Seventh Shabbat of Omer and the biblical Day of Pentecost [May 26, 2007?] Who knows what previously unrecognized blessings might be realized by being thus attuned to God’s own timing? Perhaps, for those of us that accept this invitation, we shall have an opportunity to experience more fully the meaning of the words recorded in Acts 2:2-3?
Act 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
Act 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Perhaps our Creator has something more in store for those of us that are willing to learn more about His fire, His sparks, the outpouring of His Holy Spirit, and the mysterious powers inherent in His cleansing water fuel, the very thing we use for foot washing even at the Lord’s Supper?

Am I one virgin without oil for my lamp?
But perhaps also there is in a very real sense a need to be prepared such that I will not find myself without oil in my lamp, or without fuel in my cylinders, when the midnight cry is heard? Perhaps there are deadlines to meet, choices I must make, lest I shall find myself – along with some other virgins who overlooked bringing oil for their lamps - after passing a fork in the road, on a road where I do not wish to be? Perhaps it is time right now, that I direct my thoughts, my decisions, and my actions fully into the hands and teaching of the Word of God?

A confirmation from the pen of Ellen Gould White:
“We are not to walk with God for a time, and then part from his company, and walk in the sparks of our own kindling… We are called to proclaim the special truths for this time… We cannot depend upon form or external machinery. What we need is the quickening influence of the Holy Spirit of God. “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of Hosts.” “ {The Review and Herald, March 2, 1897, paragraph 12-14}

One Response to “What god am I Asking to Set the Timing of My Life?”
PowerOfChoice | May 2nd, 2007 at 7:22 pmWho are the 144,000? Am I one of them? And you?
Being Seventh-day Adventists we tend to make a lot of the words in Daniel 9:27, don’t we?:
“in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease…”

My question is: Could it be that our view of that passage in the book of Daniel is traditionally a tad bit too one eyed?
Could it be that the Creator of a multi dimensional universe has more things of importance to show us in those words? Am I to grow in accord with the words of Isaiah?:
Isa 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
Isa 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Isa 28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
Isa 28:13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
Or isn’t it true that one key characteristic of the true Sons and Daughters of God is their lack of one-sidedness, bigotry, and fanaticism, i.e. their ability to see things from more than one point of view?
Isn’t this very characteristic part and parcel of this number?: 12 x 12 x 1,000 = 144,000. Or doesn’t it make sense that the 12s represent multidimensional teachability and that the 1,000 represents all that which is found within the meaning of the Hebrew letter and word Aleph? And isn’t it true that the letter aleph means all of the following: One, YHWH, 26, 1,000, family, teach, learn, associate, thought, and more…

What more can I learn by considering more deeply Daniel 9:27?
What is the first event in the Scriptures recorded as occurring “in the midst of the week?”
Isn’t it true that the exact mid point of each week is at the mid point of the Fourth Day?
So what event is recorded as occurring starting at that exact mid point of the creation week?
What have I learned about the bible’s use of chiasms? Isn’t it true that the mid point of most every bible record is also the focal point and the thing of greatest importance for me to learn from and implement into my own life?

Is God’s timing of any consequence for me?
Accordingly, what importance should I place upon God’s timing as designed and implemented, and upon God’s own time reckoning? Is this a minor matter of little or no importance? Or could it be that because of my own blindness and my own lack of conformance to God’s directives in consequence thereof, is also the sole cause of my inability to see and experience much if any value in things associated with God’s own calendar?
It occurs to me that today is not only the 26th Day of Omer and of the Counting of Days towards Pentecost, but also the first day of the second half of said Counting of Days toward Pentecost.
Thus today is in fact, per biblical time reckoning, the one day of the year that has its beginning “in the midst of the week,” i.e. of that week of weeks that constitutes the Counting of Omer, is it not?
Perhaps today is a timely day for me to learn some matters of great importance regarding the time keepers designed and implemented by none less than our One and only God, the Creator of the universe?
Last night a very good friend of mine sent me a link to a wonderfully designed web site named “The Watchmaker” that some of you may enjoy.
Interesting timing for that email, isn’t it? Synchronicity? God’s providence? Yes, all of that and much more, I believe! God is indeed providing for me my food in due season, is He not?! Yet, it wasn’t until this very minute that I realized the concurrence of my receiving said email and this particular point in time relative to the “midst of the week!”

What else does the Scripture record as having occurred “in the midst of the week?”
Here are two Scriptural events I’ve found that indeed are of no small importance:
1. The Last Supper occurred on the night that constitutes the first half of the Fourth Day of the Week [Tuesday night.] At the mid point of said Fourth Day our Savior was bound by the mob and brought before the leaders of said mob. Later that day he was brought before the Roman authorities for that same mob, i.e. before Pilate. Cf. my table of timed events re the days surrounding the Last Supper, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection, the Ascension, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost.
2. “In the midst of the week” recognized as The Feast of Unleavened Bread, in the early morning hours of that weekly Sabbath, the sacrifice known as the Waving of the Sheaf took place. At that point in time Yeshua was in the tomb. Does that have anything to teach me re what was happening with our Savior at that point of time? Do the writings of Ellen White shed any light upon that issue? Cf. EGW and Christ the first fruits.

Do any of the things here considered teach me anything regarding the importance of being in tune with, and aware of, the timing of the One and only original Watchmaker?
Yes, indeed! Praise the Lord Yahweh Elohim, the Creator of Time and of the Signs of Time!
