Church Planting

When you look at the membership stats available from the General Conference website, http://www.adventiststatistics.org/, notice that there are about 60,000 churches and 60,000 companies. That adds up to roughly 120,000.
A couple of my priority prayers are that at least 24,000 more churches and companies get planted which would come to 144,000 and that every church and company this year will at least know about the 10 days of prayer for the 2nd Pentecost. Both of these may not be answered this year but they conceivably could be answered in only a few more years.
One position on the 144,000 today is that each number represents a company (church) of believers because if you look at the way the 12 tribes were counted in the Bible, they were always counted by heads of households. Halleluia! the horizon is getting brighter now. (Hosea 6:3 - “Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.”)

Jerrod | April 9th, 2007 at 9:36 pmNow I believe that this part in the forum is made directly for prayer request and not commentaries. In “word to the little flock” Sis White saids “144,000 in number”. This is an exact number (literal) but I don’t want to bring this argument up because she also states that our salvation should not rely on this subject. God is good have fun searching for the understanding of the 144,000. Or you can also email me @ jerrodleeboling@hotmail.com
