”Ask ye the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showeres of rain.” “He will cause to come down for you the rain the fromer rain, and the latter rain.”
”Only those who are living up to the light they have will receive greater light. Unless we are daily advancing in the exemplification of the active Christian virtues, we shall not recognize the manifestation of the Holy Spirit in the latter rain. It may be falling on hearts all around us, but we shall not discern or receive it. TM507.

“Ask ye the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain!”
What time is that?
In the land of Israel the rainy season typically begins shortly after the Feast of Tabernacles [September or October.]
The end of the rainy season is some time before Passover [March or April.]
Accordingly “the time of the latter rain” is some in spring, is it not?
To make the correct correlations of thought it helps to know the true definitions, does it not?
PowerOfChoice | May 8th, 2007 at 3:56 amScriptural confirmation for the timing of the latter rain:
I was just reading the feature article Operation: Global Rain on the home page of this web site where I came across this quote from Joel confirming the above said:
“Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.” Joel 2:23.
And, of course, the First biblical Month is defined in Deut. 16:1 as the month of the aviv. Aviv is a state of ripening of the barley preceeding the time of harvesting by about 2-3 weeks. Thus there will be ripe barley available for the Wave Sheaf offering on the morning of the weekly Sabbath during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Cf. Exodus 12:2, 18; 13:12; 23:15.
Thus, the proper observation of the Feast of Unleavened Bread requires that there is syncronicity between the ripening of the barley and God’s timing for the Feast of Unleavened Bread. That then sets the stage for the subsequent twelve months.
Without it everything would end up being out of sync for a full 12 months period, wouldn’t it? So, these things are important for many reasons.
